Dave Grohl to Perform at Autism Speaks Charity Event

Dave Grohl will perform an acoustic set at the upcoming Autism Speaks benefit show in Los Angeles

Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl has announced that he’ll perform at a charity event benefiting Autism Speaks, an organization with the goal of raising public awareness of autism. Grohl is on the schedule to perform a special acoustic set at the third annual Blue Jean Ball, set to happen Oct. 24 at Boulevard 3 in Los Angeles. Tickets for the benefit show begin at $300 and are on sale via the Autism Speaks website.

“We are thrilled and grateful to have the talented Dave Grohl perform,” Autism Speaks president Liz Feld said in a statement. “Dave has been an advocate for all children and we are so thankful for his contribution to our cause.”

In other Grohl news, the frontman recently stated that Foo Fighters plan to release their follow-up to 2011’s Grammy Award-winning “Wasting Light” in 2014. Regarding the new album, Grohl told SPIN, “Over the past year when I haven’t been doing any Foo Fighters stuff, I’ve been loading up my cassette recorder at home with song ideas. Then I hit rewind, listened back and thought, ‘Oh, my God, I have a record!’ I’ll just say it’s pretty clear what we have, and it’s exciting.”
