Dave Grohl Close to Revealing ‘Nuts’ Way Foo Fighters Are Recording New Music
Dave Grohl says Foo Fighters are ‘doing something that no one really knows about’ for the recording of its upcoming album
Foo Fighters fans have been waiting to find out exactly what they can expect as far as new music from Dave Grohl and company, and now, it appears the band is getting closer to releasing details about the new tunes. Speaking with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Grohl said he’s almost ready to announce his top-secret recording process for the follow-up to 2011’s “Wasting Light.”
“We haven’t really disclosed exactly what we are doing,” Grohl said. “We’re doing something that no one really knows about, and we’ll announce pretty soon, I think. I know what it sounds like, and I honestly think the entire concept is really going to take people by surprise and it sounds nuts.”
In other news, Grohl recently picked up the Best Rock Song trophy at the 2014 Grammy Awards for “Cut Me Some Slack,” a song he released with Paul McCartney and his former Nirvana band mates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear. Grohl said it was an honor to receive the award, but he’s even more pleased that the film for which the song was created, his “Sound City” documentary, has struck a chord with fellow musicians.
“My reward for that movie or project is that every single day someone comes up to me and says, ‘Hey man I saw Sound City and it was really inspiring,’ or musicians come up to me and say, ‘Hey man I can’t wait to get back together with my band and jam,'” he said.
