Brian Johnson Says He’s Not Supposed to Talk About AC/DC’s Future Plans

AC/DC’s upcoming touring and recording plans are pretty secret, if you ask Brian Johnson

AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson says he’s been told not to discuss AC/DC’s future plans. That includes the big question of whether or not the legendary rockers will ever tour again.

The vocalist reluctantly opened up about it in a new interview with Eddie Trunk on Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation. During the show, he didn’t answer a handful of questions about the group’s touring and recording plans.

The last time Johnson performed with AC/DC was prior to the band’s 2016 “Rock or Bust Tour.” His final gig with the group was Sept. 20, 2016. Guns N’ Roses vocalist Axl Rose stepping in to fill on vocals for that run.

Trunk asked Johnson if he would perform live with AC/DC again, and he replied (as transcribed by Blabbermouth.net): “I’m not answering that. Why should I? First of all, there’s five members in this band, and to ask one member isn’t fair.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Trunk asked if AC/DC and Johnson would make another album together. He replied (also transcribed by Blabbermouth.net), “It’s gettin’ tabloidy here. You’re gettin’ tabloidy.”

He added, “If I say one thing, it’ll be blown out of all proportion. You just can’t afford to talk now. There’s too much blabber on the internet. And I’m not on any kind of Face-thing or social media at all — never have been. It’s just gossip.”

Frankly, it’s not surprising that Trunk would ask Johnson such questions, since it’s on the tops of the minds of fans. Many fans would love to see Johnson and AC/DC do another tour together or record a new album of material. So, it’s a bit shocking that Johnson had such a negative response. In other news, Johnson recently released his memoir, “The Lives of Brian.”
