Rocker Dave Grohl and pop star Pink are honoring Hanukkah with a cover of Pink’s “Get the Party Started”

Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana has teamed up with the singer Pink and instrumentalist Greg Kurstin for Grohl’s second “Hanukkah Sessions” video of 2022. It’s an interesting combination of musicians, with the three performing Pink’s 2001 hit, “Get the Party Started.”

Grohl, of course, hails from Foo Fighters and Nirvana. Kurstin is a member of the group The Bird and the Bee, as well as a Grammy-winning record producer. The two have covered songs by Jewish artists over the last two years, making up their Hanukkah Sessions. Listen to the two new Hanukkah Sessions songs below, and additional songs have dropped all the nights of Hanukkah. In total, eight videos from Grohl and Kurstin to round out 2022’s Hanukkah Sessions.

In other news, Foo Fighters were big winners are the 2022 Grammy Awards, taking home the Grammy for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album. It was a bittersweet honor, however, as the group recently lost their original drummer, Taylor Hawkins, so were not present at the event. The Grammys played a special video tribute to Taylor, in place of their performance. The news of Taylor Hawkins’ death broke back in March. The band shared the news in a post on social media, stating, “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
