Black Veil Brides’ Andy Sixx Names His Favorite Horror Film
Black Veil Brides singer reveals band’s Halloween plans
Halloween is one week away, and considering that Black Veil Brides dress in flashy, statement-making costumes at gigs nightly, one would think they have their Halloween get-ups all set. But, lead singer Andy Biersack (a.k.a. Andy Sixx) doesn’t think the guys are going to pull out any surprises for the frightening holiday. “Honestly, I’m going to dress up as a member of Black Veil Brides and play a show,” he told Audio Ink Radio from Los Angeles. “We’re playing in London that night, so we’re just going to do a show.”
Black Veil Brides’ dramatic costumes and face paint, Biersack says, are inspired by the pioneers of glam rock. “Certainly KISS and Motley Crue were big inspirations,” he said. “Punk bands like the Church, the Dead Boys and, obviously, the Misfits are a huge inspiration for us.” So, their garbs are much more than bold, dramatic costumes; they’re dramatic personas that put Black Veil Brides in the right mind-set to kill a show.
When it comes to Halloween-appropriate horror flicks, Biersack says he adores many spine-tingling films. “I do love horror movies, and picking a favorite would be impossible, because there are so many,” he said. “But, if I had to pick one for this moment, I just saw a great horror film called, Insidious.”
Check back for a full interview with Biersack next week. We chat about the band’s latest album, Set the World on Fire, their upcoming EP and hints of a new, in-the-works full-length. Black Veil Brides also appear on the “Buried Alive Tour” this fall with Hollywood Undead, Avenged Sevenfold and Asking Alexandria. The tour sets off Nov. 23 in Ft. Meyers, Fla., and runs through Dec. 14 in Yakima, Wash., winding down just before Christmas.
