Puscifer announce new round of 2012 tour dates
Puscifer, the electro-industrial side project for Maynard James Keenan from Tool and A Perfect Circle celebrity, has announced a new run of tour dates for 2012. The tour — in support of Puscifer’s current full-length, Conditions of My Parole — picks up Feb. 23 in Austin and pummels through various North American cities before wrapping up March 18 in Escondido, Calif.
Puscifer is absolutely in the family, as the band’s touring line-up comprises members of A Perfect Circle and other friends of Keenan. Touring members this time around include Kennan, A Perfect Circle bass player Matt McJunkins and drummer Jeff Friedl, Mat Mitchell, Josh Eustis and British singer / songwriter Carina Round.
As always, Puscifer’s live show is completely homespun. In other words, the group are out there with no label backing and no financial help. “We’re going through – no label, no funding, no underwriting, no sponsors,” Keenan recently told the Phoenix New Times. “We got through an independent distribution called Junketboy, which deals with local record stores, the Coalition of Independent Music Stores, [and gets the record to] places like Amoeba, and all the places around Phoenix where you can still get vinyl. Hot Topic won’t even take Junketboys calls to distribute records – that’s how independent it is.”
