Nickelback book lengthy tour of North American to support, ‘Here and Now’

It’s been a while since post-grunge band Nickelback boarded a full-scale, North American tour, but they’re raring up for a lengthy trek of Canada and the U.S. starting in April. Chad Kroeger and his crew will kick off the jaunt April 10 in Moline, Ill., and hit 39 cities before winding down June 26 in Vancouver. What makes the tour sweeter is that Gavin Rossdale-fronted Bush, Seether and My Darkest Days will open. Find the complete list of tour dates, below.

Nickelback are out supporting their latest full-length, “Here and Now,” which arrived in November of 2011 and entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 2. The guys recently wrapped up their “Dark Horse World Tour,” and now they’re ready to play their native soil.

Bush are touring to promote their new album, “The Sea of Memories,” which has spawned the band’s first No. 1 alternative rock radio hit in, “The Sound of Winter.” Seether are touring behind their 2011 release, “Holding Onto Things Better Left to Fray.”

Seether drummer John Humphrey recently told us the band’s latest hit single, the rock ballad “Tonight,” almost didn’t make the album. When frontman Shaun Morgan play them the song, though, they knew they had to act fast to get it in the set. “It’s a super strong song. It was very melodic and just the best of pop-rock for Seether,” he said. “I think it’s a really strong song and a great single.” Read more of what Humphrey has to say about the song and Seether’s music, here.
