’50 Years Of Loud… Live!’ to feature plethora of rock and metal musicians
Mark your calendars, metal kiddies. The brains behind Marshall amplifiers have announced a massive 50th anniversary show, billed “50 Years Of Loud… Live!,” which is set to take place at Wembley Arena, and the celebration features a star-studded lineup of rock and metal guitar players and singers.
The gig, which will take place Sept. 22, is set to feature Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society), Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert and Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Duffy (The Cult), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Corey Taylor (Stone Sour), Doug Aldrich and Brian Tichy (Whitesnake). More performers will be announced in the coming weeks. In short, the show is set to honor 50 years of great rock and metal musicians who have chosen to mainline their heavy sound through Marshall amps. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday (March 9) at 9 a.m. GMT or 4 a.m. ET via Live Nation.
Paul Marshall, Head of Artist Liaison, says artists are a huge part of what makes Marshall, well, Marshall. “Artists play a massive role in the company, and are very much part of the Marshall Family,” he stated in a release. “Over the five decades of Marshall’s history, practically every guitar hero has used Marshall, Richie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, Slash, the list goes on…This event is a celebration of the Marshall family and we are honored so many artists want to get involved!”
Iron Maiden’s McBrain says the night will be “truly a celebration of a British icon – Marshall… We’re bringing together beyond-legendary artists for a moment in history. Expect pure rock ‘n’ roll madness amplified to the max by Marshall!” (Photo credit: Anne Erickson.)
