Scream the Prayer brings together Christian metal and hardcore acts

The Scream the Prayer Tour is an annual Christian music trek that brings together metal and hardcore acts for one massive run. This year’s lineup packs both veterans and up-and-comers. Demon Hunter, Sleeping Giant, Hundredth, the Great Commission, Close Your Eyes, Your Memorial, Emery, A Bullet for Pretty Boy, Gideon and MyChildren MyBride are among the faith-filled acts confirmed for the 2012 lineup.

Scream the Prayer kicks off June 22 in Nashville, Tenn., and travels through over a dozen cities before wrapping up July 14 in Goshen, Ind. Find the full lineup below.

Demon Hunter are out supporting their current full-length, “True Defiance,” and frontman Ryan Clark recently contributed a guest column to Audio Ink Radio giving his thoughts on the current state of metal music.

“…Now I’m not one to set a bunch of rules here, but I’m pretty sure the feelings of true metal lovers are fairly unanimous,” he stated. “For starters, making metal palatable for your average 14-year-old Bruno Mars fan (whether that’s through the music itself, or in how it’s presented) is despicable. Heavy metal should not appear safe…” Read the rest of Clark’s thoughts, here. (Courtesy photo.)
