Garbage Streaming ‘Because the Night’ Ahead of Record Store Day Release
Garbage will release the ‘Because of the Night’ 10-inch on Record Store Day
Record Store Day is this Saturday (April 20), and bands and stores alike are getting ready to celebrate the special event, which honors locally-owned, independent record shops. Garbage are one of the many bands getting in on the Record Store Day fun this year, but the group isn’t making fans wait until Saturday to hear one of the songs they’re offering for the holiday.
Garbage have posted a video clip featuring their cover of Patti Smith’s “Because the Night” with the Screaming Females. The five-minute video, which is posted below, offers a stream of the full track, along with rough footage of the groups working on the track in the studio.
“Because the Night” will arrive a special, limited edition 10-inch vinyl record on Record Store Day. The rest of the record will a new, original song called “Love Like Suicide” and a fan-made remix of “Automatic Systematic Habit.”
The folks behind Record Store Day have plenty of releases lined up for this weekend. For the full list, as well as to find a participating shop near you, head to the event’s official website.
