Soundgarden will play their classic album ‘Superunknown’ at this year’s U.S. edition of the iTunes Festival

Legendary Seattle-based grunge rockers Soundgarden have been added to the lineup for the U.S. edition of the iTunes Festival, and guys have a special plan for the event, which will take place at South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, next week.

Band members Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd will perform their classic album “Superunknown” in its entirety for the first time at the show, which is set for March 13 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. This isn’t an incredibly surprising move for Soundgarden, however, seeing that the band will re-release the famed collection in a variety of formats on June 3 in conjunction with the album’s 20th anniversary. “Superunknown” became a multiplatinum album for Soundgarden and included the Grammy Award-winning singles “Black Hole Sun” and “Spoonman,” among other fan favorites.

Other artists set to take the stage at the first annual U.S. edition of the iTunes Festival include Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, Pitbull, Keith Urban and Willie Nelson, among other performers. The multi-day festival is set to run from March 11 to 15.
