Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon will tour in support of her upcoming memoir, ‘Girl in a Band’

Sonic Youth co-founder Kim Gordon will release a memoir called “Girl in a Band” on Feb. 24, and in support of the release, she will hit the road on a book tour. The trek will set off Feb. 23 in Brooklyn, New York, and run through a March 7 stop in Los Angeles.

On the tour, Gordon will chat about her book alongside a variety of alternating guests, including Mountain Goats’ Jon Wurster, Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein and Sub Pop co-founder Bruce Pavitt.

“Girl in a Band,” according to a release, will offer an “examination of what partnership means — and what happens when it dissolves.” Gordon was in Sonic Youth with her husband, Thurston Moore, but the two split in 2011.
