Lzzy Hale and Nita Strauss Perform at WWE ‘Evolution’ Pay-Per-View Event
Watch two women in rock and metal, Lzzy Hale and Nita Strauss, kick off WWE’s “Evolution” event
WWE’s “Evolution” took place last night (Oct. 28), marking the first major pay-per-view special exclusively featuring WWE’s female Superstars. To kick off the evening, WWE tapped two high-profile women in rock and metal, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Nita Strauss of Alice Cooper’s band. Watch the fiery performance below.
Strauss’ talents have been used by WWE a few times this year: once at WrestleMania to perform Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme and again at Mick Foley’s WWE Network show when she introduced the Hall of Famer.
Hale and Strauss wowed the crowd with their duel guitars during the Evolution special. Both women spoke with the WWE backstage at the event and explained why they were honored to perform at the event.
“It’s absolutely an honor, and we know this is history in the making being surrounded by all these strong women,” Strauss said in the interview.
“We’re not worthy!” added Strauss. “We set them up, they’re going to knock them down.”
“For me, I think it’s such an amazing thing for women to see other women being strong,” added Hale. “It’s not just about the lipstick that you put on and that pretty face. You can literally take a punch, and it’s amazing to be a part of that movement… I don’t think you realize until you’re out there how important it is. There were these little girls right next to us, just over the railing watching this, and it’s such an important thing for women to see.”
“Girls, whatever you want to be, don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t be something,” Hale added “You always can be anything you want.”
