Nita Strauss is Back in Alice Cooper’s Band
Longtime Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss is back in the band
Last year, guitar sensation Nita Strauss left Alice Cooper’s band after several years in the group to serve as lead guitarist in Demi Lovato’s touring band. It was a bit of a surprise to see Strauss go from metal to pop, but Lovato’s was going for a more hard-edged sound, so it made sense, and the shows were a hit. Now, Cooper’s management has announced that Strauss will be back in his touring band for the Coop’s upcoming 2023 tour dates.
The Alice Cooper North American tour, called “Too Close For Comfort,” will set off in late April in Michigan and keep the band on the road through late September. Aside from headlining tour dates, Cooper will also appear with Def Leppard and Motley Crue on their Stadium tour, as well as perform on a co-headlining late summer “Freaks On Parade” run with Rob Zombie, Filter and Ministry.
“She’s Back!” Cooper said in a statement. “Nita asked for a leave of absence to work with someone else, something I always encourage my band members to do. I like them to challenge themselves and try new things. I’m thankful to my old friend Kane Roberts for stepping up and filling in for her, but she’ll be back with us for the new tour that starts up in late April. It’s going to be great to have her back.”
Nita added, “From the studio to the stage, it’s always an immense honor to make music with Alice Cooper!! I’m very excited to be rejoining the band on the road for the 2023 dates, and so I’ll see you on the road in April. Let the nightmare return!”
