Gwen Stefani of No Doubt opens up about the band’s upcoming LP

No Doubt have already announced once that their new album won’t be out until 2012. And now, lead singer Gwen Stefani is seconding that, explaining that she has a lot going on between juggling three clothing lines, mommy duties and her high-profile marriage to rock star Gavin Rossdale of alternative band Bush.

Despite her full plate of duties, Stefani says No Doubt’s record, for now, comes first. “I think lately, my new secret is just trying to delegate,” Stefani told Access Hollywood. “I just make priorities of what’s important at the moment. Right now, the No Doubt record is everything for me.”

Stefani went on to explain that part of the reason why No Doubt’s new album is taking so long to record is because they keep taking time off, since all of the band members have a lot of projects happening. “We do this thing where we work on it really hard, and then we take breaks, because everybody has so much going on,” she said. “That’s why it’s taking so long.”

Of course, another reason it’s taking so long is because Stefani has her hands full with the kiddies! “Everybody asks, ‘Why is it taking so long?’ Because I have kids,” she said. “I’m a mom! I have school, I have homework. It’s a lot.” Read No Doubt’s official statement regarding their upcoming album, here.

Stefani’s Harajuku Mini Target clothing line is out now, and she says it’s something of a dream come true. “I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the super cute and playful kids clothing you find in Japan,” Stefani said. “The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.”
